| Pantone
Colors
Pantone or Spot colors, also known as PMS colors (Pantone
Matching System), are colors that have a specific number
that is related to a particular color. These are very
specific ink colors and is a true matching system.
When a piece is printed using
pantone colors, there is no matchprint required. There
are hundreds of pantone colors. For example, our KOPY-RITE
logo is made up of two pantone colors, Black and Pantone
287 (which is one of many shades of blue). Sometimes,
people will submit their artwork and say they want black
and red (black is straightforward, but there are many
different pantone "red" colors.)
When artwork is submitted, we
will always request an electronic file form to be completed,
this will tell us how the artwork was created and if
the designer is working in CMYK or specific pantone
colors.
